Embedded Electronics Production Technician

Primary Job Description:
  • Manage and execute technical assembly, quality assurance, and deployment for agricultural sensing and automation hardware utilizing current IoT technologies.
  • Organize and manage customer project BOM inventories and coordinate with outsourced sub-assembly suppliers.
  • Manage final quality assurance checks prior to customer deliveries including provisioning embedded Linux devises with initial firmware loads.
  • Build prototype assemblies: Precision drilling of din rail equipment and electronics housings. Fabricating wiring harnesses for din-rail terminal block systems, sensor harnesses, and electrical switching relays.
  • Assist with installation and configuration of customer projects.
Required Skill Sets:
  • Knowledge of Linux based embedded computers and AVR micro-processors.
  • Familiarity with signal processing and popular communications protocols: analog, serial, I2C, SDI-12.
  • Familiarity with electronics and shop fabrication tools: multi-meters, soldering irons, drills, saws etc.
  • Basic understanding of network configurations.
Bonus Skill Sets :
  • Skills with designing and building controlled environment agricultural systems.
  • Background with industrial control systems and electrical systems design.
  • Programming chops in C and Node.

Hydroponic Farm Manager

Primary Job Description:

Responsible for all facets of hydroponic farm management.

  • Crop scheduling, crop selection, and certified food safety program.
  • Equipment maintenance, cleaning, and sanitation.
  • Client relationships including harvest and deliveries.
Job specifics:
  • Full-time salaried position (minimum 40 hours per week expected, and some weeks will be more)
  • Flexible work schedule, except Mondays (7:00 am start), Wednesdays (8 am start).
  • $1,000/week starting salary, with Paid-time-off.
  • Primary farm location is in the Harvey West area of Santa Cruz. Other travel needed to San Jose and Watsonville.
  • Must be flexible and available to respond to system emergencies as they crop up.
Desired Experience and Attributes:
  • Zealous attention to detail and cleanliness.
  • Good with record keeping, organization, and documentation.
  • Experience with hydroponic crop production and a background in plant science.
  • Good with people and capable of being a positive representative of our company.

The company has now expanded operations to its second corporate campus at a major Silicon Valley tech company and is looking to expand into new projects in the Bay Area.
